I spent a lot of time today looking at the traffic for our network. Did you know that we have 29 blogs that got more page views last month than Business Blog Wire, our highest-ranked blog according to Technorati? Goes to show that rankings of one kind may completely disagree with rankings of another kind.
We do have a few blogs with very little traffic, but mostly it's either because they are brand new or because the author's topic is extremely focused on a small niche. I do need to go around giving feedback to all our authors in the next week or two - it's actually a lot of fun to look under the hood at each blog and give the author personalized feedback.
Traffic doesn't matter except as a benchmark for business purposes, and also as a measurement of human behavior. So today was kind of odd just focusing on raw numbers for so long. But I'm glad we have tools to analyze our Web traffic and hopefully we can make it increase naturally over time.
