A simple way to bring more people to your blog is to talk about something that's making a lot of recent news - like the new Apple iPhone, announced today at the CES technology event in Las Vegas.
Of course this means that news-hungry Web readers will likely expect you to say something substantial about what you've mentioned in your post title and in your blog post. So be ready to defend what you've said from the outset!
Also, don't write about something just because it's a popular topic - write about it because you want to and because you have something significant to say about it.
That said, all things being equal - the more popular your topic, the better - at least in terms of getting others' attention. How you seek blog traffic and what you do with it are more important than how much traffic you actually get.
Think of "traffic" not as numbers, but as people like you, and your blog will improve.
