Bruce Shneier shares some interesting analysis on MySpace usernames and passwords, suggesting that many of us are not protecting our accounts as we should.
Here's an easy way to create a super-secure yet memorable username and password for your blog:
1. Think of a brief phrase that's easy for you to remember, but unlikely for others to associate with you. For example, take a line from a song by a band you don't like, or describe your favorite high school teacher.
2. Convert short words to memorable one-character alternatives. Change "to" to 2, "a" to @, "for" to 4, "the" to T, etc. For example, "Friendly to a fault and always ready to help" becomes "Friendly 2 @ fault & always ready 2 help."
3. Grab the first character of each word. For example, "Friendly 2 @ fault & always ready 2 help" becomes F2@f&ar2h.
There you have it! Just make sure that when you type your password, you don't say the secret phrase out loud. On that note, just don't ever tell anyone else your passwords or your secret methods.
This is just one idea, but I hope it gets your mind flowing with account security ideas.
What password-protection techniques do you use?

Wow.. that is a very strong password. What I normally do is to break up my word into two, and then insert a number in between. Like if I were you, I do with "eas78ton" or something like that. Good enough, I guess?
