Suzanne Wells, author of PowerSellerKing shares her experience with StumbleUpon and warns authors to be careful not to over-Stumble their own work.
In analyzing my traffic reports, I noticed that StumbleUpon is a huge referrer, second only to Google on my reports. In my enthusiasm to Stumble all of my KMM posts to tap into this traffic resource, I learned about the StumbleUpon limits the hard way.
After a certain number of Stumbles from the same IP address, SU does not function properly and posts cannot be entered. I contacted SU about this issue, and here is the email I received from SU customer support:
"We have a limit in place that prevents multiple posting from a single source. Having reviewed your pages, it seems likely that you are encountering this limit. If you wish to actively promote a site, business or service - you might find this service more appropriate: StumbleUpon Ads."
In other words, choose your Stumbles carefully. I have enlisted the help of friends and colleagues to Stumble my KMM posts to continue to receive the phenomenal traffic, however, it is somewhat of a hassle!
