Sometimes you feel like you're running out of fresh ideas and you just need a little perspective and inspiration. The quality of your blog's content is supremely important. It's also the most challenging aspect of blogging.
And sometimes the hardest part of making high-quality content is coming up with the ideas for that content in the first place.
Never fear.
Here are 5 excellent strategies to generate brilliant post ideas every time:1. Make a mind map. I would go into detail here, but Darren Rowse has already covered the subject of mind-mapping extremely well here and here.
2. Talk to people. When you're stuck, email or call some friends or blog readers. Ask them what they would be interested to read about.
3. Stand on the shoulders of giants. Take a great idea that someone has already published. Now add your own twist.
4. Do what has worked before. Take one of your favorite or most popular posts from yesteryear and revisit the same topic.
5. Use your imagination. Picture your ideal reader. What would make them foam at the mouth (in a good way)? What would make them weep for joy to read about? Now make the dream come alive.
What strategies do you use to come up with brilliant post ideas?
